St. Muredach’s Cathedral

Masses on weekdays: 8.00am (Monday to Friday) ; 10.00am (Monday to Saturday)
Masses on weekend : 7.30 pm (vigil) ; 8.00am ; 9.30am ; 11.00am ; 12.30 pm

Saturday: 12 noon to 1.00pm; 6.30pm to 7.15pm


St. Patrick’s Church

Masses on weekdays : 7.30 pm (Monday) ;


9.30am  (Tuesday to Saturday)
Masses on weekend : 8.00 pm (vigil); 10.00am; 11.15am; 12.30 pm
Confessions : Saturday : 7.00 pm - 7.30 pm

Wedding Checklist



To book Church for wedding, phone Parish Office – 096-70555


Check with priest that he is available to assist at wedding and that he is on the civil list of solemnisers 


Decide on wedding date (allow a minimum of three to six months notice)

Attend a Pre-Marriage course (6 months in advance of wedding date)


Discuss ceremony details with celebrant

Meet a civil registrar at least 3 months before the wedding to give notice of their intention to marry.  Couples are advised to contact the Registrar of Marriage well in advance, before the intended date of the Marriage to ensure they get a timely appointment           


Receive the Marriage Registration Form (MRF) from the civil registrar of marriage       

Bring the MRF to the solemniser to ensure the details are accurate

Make a verbal declaration of no civil impediment not more than 2 days before the wedding


Return the signed MRF to any civil registrar not later than 1 month after the wedding    


Documents & Official Certificates Checklist


Notify Registrar’s Office and collect Marriage Registration Form
or  Marriage Schedule (at least three months in advance)


A certificate of Baptism (must be a current certificate, written in last 6 months)     


A certificate of Confirmation

Pre-nuptial Enquiry Form (available from and fill in with priest)

Letter of freedom from each parish you have lived in for 6 months or more    

Pre-Marriage Course Certificate

Dispensation- if your prospective spouse is not a Roman Catholic Or the marriage is to be in a non-Catholic church


If you want the Pope’s Blessing, you will need a letter of  recommendation from your priest.  The blessing takes 12 weeks to obtain.  A brochure is available from Veritas
